The work consists of laser cut text on 22 sheets of found paper that the artists had inadvertently collected over almost a decade. The text was penned during a travel in South America as a script for a short film, that involved more than 200 random people from different countries, met in public spaces.
The negative space renders the text sometimes readable and sometimes not – depending on the viewer’s angle and the background against which it is read. It is there and not there at the same time. The viewer holds the option of reading it or just seeing through the work – just we choose to see or not in real life.
Installation:
– The sheets hang in a circular or square formation (depending on the site) at eyelevel height. The viewer can walk around the form and even look at the reverse from inside the formation.
