7 dynamic projections on the walls, roof and floor; and a low frequency Audio track, turn a dark room into a surreal space. The gentle movement of the images of galaxies, planets lends a feeling of floating in space. A 21-point Charter of (in)humanity, laser cut into the covers of old journals collected over decades, are suspended precariously in the air. Even a gentle breath disturbs the airflow and moves the sheets. To read them, one must continuously adjust one’s position. The text is there and not there at the same time. One has the choice to see and read it or not – just like we often do in real life.
The text was originally written by Parvez for his film Flight 208 in 2005.
Note on Installation: This is a site-specific installation which adapts its form to the space.
