Q BAR is a durational, site and socio-specific work that Parvez developed in 2019. Each iteration is adapts to the specificity of the occasion, spase and context. The entire space is transformed into a performative setting. A special menu awaits the visitors, who may choose only to go through the menu of order any dish they fancy, a la carte. By merely entering the space, every guest acquires the possibility of activating the work. Besides a home-styled meal Parvez cooked from his home recipes through out the afternoon, was also offered to all the guests.
Q BAR is a space to step away from the routine, at least for a while and engage with some food for thought.
This edition of the performance took place at the Finnisage of ‘ICH UND DIE WELT’ (The World and I) at Kulturhaus Helferei, Zurich, 2022, curated by Peter Fischer and Brigitt Buergi (die zukunft kuratieren).
